Nitrogen removel via chemical air scrubber with biobed
Discover the realisation
At a pig farm in Ravels (Antwerp), a mobile manure separator periodically arrives on site. During the separation process, high ammonia concentrations of up to 300ppm are released. For comparison, this concentration from a traditional pigsty can be as high as 50ppm. Besides that, a sharp unpleasant smell is generated, which causes odour nuisance to the surrounding area. An air purification system from CBgroup now ensures nitrogen and odour removal.
AIR PURIFICATION SYSTEM: COMBI AIR WASHING SYSTEM AND BIOBED
The existing shed for storing the thick fraction was equipped with an extraction system. For this, our technicians designed a suction channel of diameter 560. The air purification system was dimensioned by CBgroep and consists of a dust collection chemical section, a neutralisation section and a biobed. All of this is equipped with the latest sensor technology and software, centralised in the technical area. Cage ladder and access doors on the unit provide easy access, which facilitates maintenance. The installation is scalable, fitted with the latest developments in electronic monitoring and armed against adaptive legislation.
CBGROEP VENTILATION CONTROL
The ventilation control, developed by CBgroep, puts the shed under negative pressure at all times. When the gates are opened or during manure separation, both the extraction capacity and the speed of the scrub water pump in the air scrubber are automatically increased.
