Cattle aerator for existing and newly built dairy stables
Discover the realisation
On two dairy farms, one newly built (400 dairy cows) and one existing (300) in Neeroeteren (Limburg), a Cattle aerator was installed to purify the outgoing stable air of the dairy cows from ammonia, odour and dust. The Cattle aerator was developed in West-Flanders by CBgroep and is a total concept consisting of, among other things: air scrubbing unit, extraction fans, comfort ventilation control, control of curtains and cooling.
The CBgroep team guides the dairy farmer from A to Z: during the application for a permit, the elaboration of the drawings and the ventilation management, as well as with the actual assembly and start-up.
The installation was built on the basis of the PAS measure R-1.7 45% or higher ammonia emission reduction. The legal online monitoring system records up to 64 items every 15 minutes, including in particular:
- 14x vacuum gauges
- 9x temperature sensors
- 3x humidity meters
- 8x CO2 meters
- 2x % ventilation
- 2x % position of inlet curtains
- pH acidity and mS conductivity of washing water
- fresh water and produced drain water quantities
- operating hours
- safety sensors such as level of drain water tank and circulation tank
The various values are clearly displayed in a graph. In this way, the installation can be accessed from every computer or smartphone with internet access. This user-friendliness makes it possible to provide technical support to the dairy farmer from the offices of CBgroep in Staden. After the 2-year guarantee period, this way the costs for on-site interventions are reduced to a minimum. This allows the dairy farmer to continue to concentrate on his main activities.
