First Cattle aerator

Discover the realisation

In April 2021, a first Cattle aerator, an air scrubbing installation for a cattle stable, was started up.  Our well-known high-quality techniques have been purifying ammonia emissions from many pigs for 15 years, and now also from cattle.

A chemical air scrubbing system was installed at the back of both an existing (278 dairy cows) and a new dairy stable (378 dairy cows).  In this way, the ammonia emissions into the environment can be reduced as much as possible.

The air scrubbing units were produced in our own workshop, installed on site and started up.

CBgroep provided the air scrubbing units with the corresponding fans.  Inside the stable, the principle of lengthwise ventilation was applied: via a pressure chamber with 8 ventilators, the air is pulled through the stable and pushed through the Cattle aerator.  In cooperation with our partner Sommen, a climate computer was installed.  This allows to regulate the ventilation in the house on the basis of measurements of temperature, vacuum pressure and C02.

Both installations have been provided with a chimney through which the purified stable air is discharged 14 metres high.

One centralised control room on the ground provides easy access to all measuring equipment, pumps and sensors.  In addition, the installation was linked to our Online Service Interface (OSI) and PASmonitor.  Via a built-in mobile phone card, more than 25 parametres of the installation are transmitted for processing every hour of the day.  Our technician can remotely access the installation and check the digital logs.  This way, our technicians can monitor this Cattle aerator 24/7 and intervene when necessary.

An acid-resistant tank stores the drain water with the ammonium sulphate formed and an above-ground tank centralises the process water of both units.
