At a farm in East Flanders, the bio scrubber was extended with a narrower outlet shaft.

This creates a greater chimney effect.  This natural phenomenon ensures more natural ventilation.  As a result, less mechanical ventilation is required, allowing the entire ventilation system to operate more energy-efficiently.

There is also less counter-pressure because there is less wind influence from outside.  In colder periods, the mechanical ventilation can therefore run at a lower speed, creating a more pleasant climate inside the building. 

In addition, the purified air is released higher up and is therefore further neutralised.  The result is a more pleasant climate around the building.

In short: win-win situation for the operator, the surroundings and the environment in particular.
