DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
In order to minimise the odour nuisance for the surroundings, the slaughterhouse opted for a high-tech air purification installation from CBgroep. After a first site visit and a thorough study by our technical team, a combination of a chemical and biological air purification installation was chosen in order to guarantee the best results in terms of odour reduction for the surroundings.
Produced in our workshop and installed with professional expertise
The entire air purification installation for the slaughterhouse consists of 1 chemical and 3 biological air purification units. These 4 units were produced in-house in the new workshop of CBgroep and then transferred to the slaughterhouse, together with the air ducts and ventilation that will control the installation.
The chemical air purification plant with integrated technical room and fans was linked to the existing extraction air ducts on a part of the slaughterhouse.
The other 3 biological units have been connected to another zone of the slaughterhouse with self-built air ducts and ventilation shafts. A separate new technical room with piping supplies these bioscrubbers with washing water.
All this was successfully carried out by our technical installers and now ensures an excellent operation of our entire air purification system.
Bacteria cellar
For the construction of the new plant with the 3 biological units, CBgroep also provided a bacteria cellar on the site where the circulating washing water with dust ends up and which is therefore constantly under water. In this cellar, the mother bacteria settle on the filter packets thanks to the pleasant temperature of 10°C generated by the ground heat. At the bottom of this cellar, a sediment is formed that is extracted once a year.
System monitoring, maintenance & safety
The systems installed at the slaughterhouse are permanently monitored by CBgroep thanks to the PASmonitor. This way, we can detect and remedy possible warnings of the installation. Not only the technical operation of the system is checked, but also the effective yield of the air purification is provided by CBgroep.
And as provided for in the safety regulations, CBgroep installed the necessary fencing and cage ladders. In this way, the air purification plant can be safely reached for periodic maintenance on the one hand or for necessary interventions by technical staff on the other hand.
