Poultry aerator Meulebeke

Discover the realisation

On two identical newly built chicken houses in Meulebeke, a biological Poultry aerator has been installed.  This is to purify the outgoing house air of 2 x 45,000 broilers from ammonia, odour and dust.  This Poultry aerator is a biological air scrubber, developed by CBgroep in West-Flanders.

The Poultry aerator is equipped with cooling and heating options.  During winter, fresh outside air can be pre-heated.  In addition, the design allows for an automatic switch to indirect adiabatic cooling in summer.  This prevents heat stress and increases the efficiency of the poultry house.

The amount of drain water discharged on an annual basis is extremely limited.

The condensation water that comes out of the heat exchanger during the winter is stored and used as feed water for the summer.  It contains a lot of dust, an ideal food source for the proper functioning of a bioscrubber.
